To avoid your relationship becoming a Christmas casualty, there are things you can do now. Not only is it important to nurture your relationship, it’s also important to keep your own stress to a minimum.
Find time to discuss how you’d like Christmas to be.
Agree a Christmas budget and stick to it.
Don’t let problems fester, communicate them.
Do your best to get along with the in-laws (another glass of wine anyone?).
Know what your triggers are, and do your best to avoid them (no, that’s not a cue to refuse to see the mother-in-law).
Having the Christmas YOU want, will ease stress.
